Purpose of the programme

Develop a highly skilled computer application specialists able to integrally understand the challenges of business and information, communication technological support of modern information systems and computer science progress, ready to design, develop, manage, business software, creating the knowledge and skills on the latest technology in perspective, taking place in the new knowledge society and the original information processes, develop new ways of managing e-business areas mastering on modern information communication technologies and intelligent systems based on business models and organization.

Applied subjects of business informatics: Knowledge representation methods and claud computing (selective); Network architecture and IS security software (selective); Operation research and experimental planning methods (selective); Actuarial calculations and models of financial markets (selective); Decision-making theory (selective); Multi- statistical methods for business (selective); Market research systems and technology (selective) provides skills: • To develop business information and communication technology solutions, providing networking and teleworking, creating a virtual business organizations; • Examine the IT infrastructure for business management, systems interoperability, integrity problems and make suggestions for development electronic services in various business segments. To reveal the information and communication technologies on business management, software components, development of electronic service quality improvement, business management of internal and external corporate, administrative and functional processes of transformation of the influence of the ICT sector. • Examine the business of modern logistics information systems of their place of e- business and global development trends and practices.

Program courses are the original and aimed to develop ICT, according to today's and future business executive needs. Structure of program content and teaching methodology for the development of higher education requirements. Participating in the academic qualifications of teachers, their active participation in research projects and practical work experience, create favorable conditions for successful realization of this program. The program consists of 90 ECTS credits. Scientific research and master's thesis of 30 credits are allocated (ie 30 percent). Total Classroom work is directed at: permanent studios - 30 percent. deepening cources(G) have 86.7%, and applied cources (T) - 13.3%.

The Business Informatics Master's degree study program consists of 8 compulsory subject, 7 electives subjects from which students choose two subjects. Master's thesis phased over three semesters. Each semester of study is not more than 5 subjects. Program courses are the original authors, and to develop, according to today's and future business executives cooking needs. Things structure, program content and teaching methodology for the development of higher education requirements.

Deepening Business Informatics subjects: Research methodology of applied informatics; Business processes supporting software and e. services; Theoretical chapters of applied informatics; Information systems design and development; Software engineering ; User interfaces for programming and media systems; Artificial intelligence systems; Distributed data warehouses and analysis methods.

The program is designed to identify problems in applied computer science and modern information systems analysis and rational decision-prediction methods. The program in applied computer science major theoretical issues in science and integrates such subjects as artificial intelligence, software engineering, user interface programming and information technology. Business Informatics is planned for the second undergraduate program are provided to prepare professionals who are able to: • develop and manage the Information communication technology, their contents, to convey the creativity of business development - using modern ICT, modeling and visualization tools; • develop innovative and open communication networks; • design, develop secure and reliable software, embedded systems, business management information systems and integrate them into a single infrastructure for innovation and the ability to use new electronic services, advanced modern business management tools. Business Informatics program will ensure that it completed a master's degree and completed the person will have significantly higher than those achieved during undergraduate studies competencies: • will have acquired knowledge of a specific computer applications for independent research and development and application of the ideas that are sufficient to analyze and evaluate the achievements of several branches of science and problem solving opportunities associated with the latest business management software, business artificial intelligence, knowledge management, enterprise resource planning and operations research, software systems engineering, information systems design and integration skills; • Strategic acquisition of managerial software engineering skills to successfully serve the application of ICT to create, design and manage business information systems and infrastructure to support their bids opportunities in cyberspace; • be proficient in knowledge and understanding of modern research methods for the analytical skills of innovation and integration of knowledge-intensive information provision in practice; • be able to carry out scientific research in applied computer science, grounding methods of analysis capabilities, and evaluate the results and determine their reliability; • Business informatics research and deployment instruments will be enhanced coordination by focusing them on key issues, such as information system's interoperability, security and reliability, e-identity management, software access rights management and ease of use.

The study program is consistent and complementary to other institutions of higher education study programs and the general application of informatics systems, training priorities. All the things taught in the program provides knowledge about the provision of business information technology theory and practical application to business problems in computer science research.

Qualification requirements and regulations

According to the Description of the Lithuanian Qualifications Framework, level VII qualifications are acquired through graduate university (II cycle) studies. The qualification provides for complex activities consisting of different interrelated tasks which may cover several related areas of professional activities. That is the reason why the performance requires expert evaluation of the most recent knowledge in the close and more distanced areas of activities; discovery of new facts in applied research of the professional activity area, creative theoretical knowledge and application of the results of scientific research. The activities are performed independently, by way of setting prerogatives of an activity area, making independent decisions, which are oriented towards improvement and perfection of the activities. The activities imply managing the activities of other employees, thus qualifications of this level include abilities to independently carry out applied research, to provide consultations in an area of activities, to coordinate projects related to the upgrading of other individuals’ qualifications and implementation of innovations, to analyse and present activity results. As the technological, management and organizational progress is witnessed in all areas of activities, the activities and their environment are subject to constant change, the changes are difficult to anticipate, the activities consist of volatile combinations of tasks. The activity change requires the ability to make innovative decisions based on research results, to assess alternative solutions and possible social and ethic consequences of the activities.

Specific requirements for graduation

Applicants to the program of study must have a bachelor's degree. Study under this program is for individuals who have completed university studies business informatics, applied science, social science, computer science, information technology, computer engineering specialties.

The minimum requirements after barchelor university studies for joining the Master's in Business Informatics - Informatics, a theoretical framework - the theory of algorithms, databases, programming framework, information technology, mathematics (ie - linear algebra, discrete mathematics and statistics) framework of knowledge.

Business Informatics Master's Degree program specific graduation requirements: - The student must have attended 90 ECTS credit program, in which all things are of Applied Informatics specialty area; - Develop and positively defended his master's thesis Applied Informatics qualification commission; - Acquire all the required program competencies.
