Purpose of the course unit

To introduce the theoretical social support to child, families and family counseling models, to develop students practical ability to organize social work with families, diagnosing and solving family problems.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Assessment methods

Students will be able to assess child and family as a small group, identity development, falimy problems and their possibilities to overcome the situation, to provide support strategy. Will be able to apply for the child care and social services organization and deliveryprinciples.

Discussions, online support, portfolio, collaborative learning, case studeis, critical thinking, self-study methods.

Theoretical reference works. Individual and group practical exercises and presentatios. Learning portfolio preparation and presentatios. Written form exam.

Students will know and will be able to decribe the Lithuanian social policy for the child and family trends and news. Will be able to use practically the legal documents, providing child care.

Lecture, discussion, self study, portfolio, encouraging critical thinking, collaborative learning methods.

Theoretical knowledge examination controls cariied out; Individual and grouping practical exercises and presentation; Learning portfolio preparation and presentation.

Students will be able to designe and implement family social support models implementation.
