8.

Purpose of the course unit

• According to standard sources regulating document management in the Republic of Lithuania to be able to arrange main activity documents of the institution and to formalize all their property. • During the arranegement and formalization of the documents, to properly use the means of office language expression (terms, standard phrases, etc.). • To know the procedures of document planning, registration, document task administration control, file formation, management and storage, document value expertise and other procedures of document management and accounting.

The graduates of documentalistics course studies will be able to aarange main activity documents of the institution and to formalize all their property according to the newest requirements.

Abilities to arrange and formalize the documents are assessed as well as general level of computer-based literacy.

Will know the requirements of office-language and will properly use the means of office-language expression (terms, standard phrases, etc.).

It is assessed how students are able to properly arrange and formalize the texts of documents of various types according to the formulated tasks, to express official information in proper means of office-language expression.

Will understand the importance of document management in collecting, transferring and keeping official information, in organizing and guaranteeing clear and effective activity of the company, will know the procedures of document circulation organization.

It is assessed how students perceive the procedures of document registration, file formation and management, how students know main principles of document scientific and historic value.

Registration of received and outgoing documents (3-5) in registers. Case analysis: to analyze the requisites of specific document in the aspect of regularity (to define the mistakes of requisite formalization and to comment on them), to assess the procedures of its arrangement (arrangement of document’s project, its adjustment, etc.) and to ground the facts of their violation.

The assessment level is 18–17 correct answers. 8: good knowledge and skills, there might occur some insignificant mistakes. Synthesis level is 16–15 correct answers. 7: mediocre knowledge and skills, there are mistakes. Analysis level 14–13 correct answers. 6: knowledge and skills are lower than mediocre, there are (significant) mistakes. Knowledge application level 12–11 correct answers. 5: knowledge and skills still comply with minimum requirements. Many mistakes. Knowledge and comprehension level 10–9 correct answers. 4–1: minimum requirements not fullfilled. 0 –9 correct answers.
