Purpose of the course unit

The course is specifically designed to address the needs and interests of students of criminal law and criminology studies, in particular, those engaged in the study of organized crime. The course introduces the analyzing of the material about the organized crime problems in EU and other countries. The course encompasses the analysis of corruption, trafficking in human beings, drugs related crimes, smuggling.

A student is actively involved into debates, answers difficult questions, raises relevant problems and provides critical comments; A student participates in the seminars and lectures, discussions and is able to answer questions; A student participates in the seminars and lectures and is able to answer questions. Student is assessed using 10 points system.

During exam session

During the exam students deal with the practical task that comprises the practical situation and the test composed of 20 questions of theoretical nature. Assessing the answers one should take into account the level of theoretical knowledge, the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical situation, student’s ability to ground his position and the relevance of the sources chosen to substantiate the position.
